Investor profile

Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) is one of Canada’s largest institutional managers. It invests on behalf of 31 pension, endowment and government funds including the province’s SWF, Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund, and on behalf of 368,000 public sector employees. It operates on commercial terms at arm’s length from the regional Government, although at a cost lower than private asset managers. It has the additional purpose of diversifying Alberta’s source of income away from oil.
